Six weeks of lessons, studies and Bible readings for new and growing believers

​

Written by the Director of the Centre for Christianity in Society, Paul Coulter, First Steps aims to introduce new Christians to the most important aspects of Christian belief and toencourage good habits of engagement with the Bible, prayer and church fellowship.  It includes:

  • Six lessons (subjects below) to be taught by an experienced believer or read alone;

  • Six simple Bible studies - one to be completed the day after each of the lessons is read or taught;

  • Six sets of five daily Bible reading materials for the other five days of the week between lessons.

Week 1: New Life

  • The Good News • A new identity • What difference will it make? • How can I be sure?

 

Week 2: New Relationship

  • Prayer – talking to God • What to do about, doubts, temptation and sin

 

Week 3: New Direction

  • The Bible – God reveals Himself to us • Knowing God’s will

 

Week 4: New Power

  • The Holy Spirit – God at home in our lives • Spiritual Warfare

 

Week 5: New Family

  • Love one another • Why bother with Church? • The New Covenant • The Lord’s Supper

 

Week 6: New Purpose

  • The End of the World is Near! • Our Mission • Baptism
